You can find the seven chapters that I've written HERE: [link] or at [link] under "Books" though I can't find them. FFN (Fan Fiction -dot- Net) is being weird right now.
Plot: Charlie Bucket is fifteen years old and in High School when Willy Wonka decides to pay him a visit for the day. Hi-jinx ensues, especially with a Vice Principal, the other candymaker's children, and a newcommer by the name of Sheldon. There are a lot of Michael Jackson references and other fandoms slipped into the story too. The story lends itself to shoujo manga (or girl's comics in Japan). Therefore the artist strived to create a cartoon effect and I was extremely impressed with the results. This scene is from when Wonka is alone in the elevator with Charlie and suspicious bruises with bite marks (a.k.a. "hickeys") are revealed. The young man doesn't seem entirely displeased with the marks however and is aware of the 'hungry' gaze from his mentor's eyes.
ART DETAILS: It was a pleasure to become intimate with such bold & highly stylized lines. Definately an original interpriation of the characters. I feed on originality. This work consumed two and a half days of my life. Partly because I decided to pull out an old medium...pastels! Conte a Paris pencils along with smudging tools. Took a bit to even find the supplies and then to re-aquaint myself with them as I pushed color across the paper little by little. Also one has to be really careful how you use pastel because it smudges! Yes, it was a nice way to test my patience/sanity.
I'm pleased with the results though and I hope you will be as well. I wanted a soft/dreamy feel since I deceided to go for an interpritation of the scene where Mr. Wonka is in his traditional clothes (in the tale he is wearing all white, like his heir who is currently in Willy's old India/Prince Pondicherry outfit.)
I used a Deleter Japanese Screen Tone on Mr. Wonka's jacket, a touch of Liquitex paint here and there to preserve detail, and fine tipped Sakura Pigment Markers to keep the occasional integrity of a line. The border is made from my extensive collection of paper scraps (collected over years from letters, garbage, magazines, and art stores). Can you find the amusing "May", "December", and Charlie's age within the collage?
I just luve this idolhands. I remember LaFemme showing me this picture just before she had finished it. I was well impressed then. He seems to remind me of disneys beast (from beauty and the beast) *shrugs shoulders* I think it is something in his eyes. You have done a beautiful job 'yet again' in colouring this pic. You have turned a beautiful piece of art into something even better. I love it....~
