I don't know Are You Afraid of the Dark but "a tad creepy" is always a compliment in my book and surprisingly, I was afraid that this image was too uh, 'gentle' for me although I've been called graceful.

Are You Afraid of the Dark was a kid's show that was these kids sitting round the fire "The Midnight Society" and they would tell scary stories to each other that were then shown as little vinettes. Not the scariest thing as an adult, or even older teen, but a few episodes were down right scary. Like the one I references. It was a bit like "They live" where a kid gets these glasses that show all these weird people covered in black living around him.
