I think the way I colored it is what I like too. I ended up trying this technique a few more times as I teamed up with another guy on a shoujo oriented story.
Although I tolorated many a cute critter, even came to like some of them, Makona was one step too cute for me. I hate to admit that I had a strong urge to punt kick it. Then..I ended up having to draw it. I think I hid my dislike well.

Funny, I noticed the lips too. They are very exact. I wonder if I'd draw such lips these days. It's really interesting to look at old work, especially if its been a while since one has drawn.
Recently I thought of "Kiki's Delivery Service" and how she forgets how to use her magical powers...
