And look at those shoulders!! Add ear curls and underwear on the outside of the costume. Ah, classic anime. Yes sir, the Iczers were certainly sporting the trends then, weren't they? Iczer-9 had icy blue hair and red eyes. She was also distinguished by the sash she used to tie her hair into a ponytail. Myself and the two writers played with ideas to keep each woman distinct.

Created for a fan fiction based off the original series and the idea that Iczer-One would agree to work with Iczer-Two in order to save Nagisa Kano (whom Iczer-One ends up falling in love with). Japanese school-girls have all the fun, I swear!

I was very into learning Japanese and was teaching myself the characters by using them in artwork. I worked to make things authentic at the same time that you may notice a blending of my Marvel and American-style background.

Art Details: Inked in simple liquid ball point pen and detailed with Letratone. By the way, Letratone doesn't make this sort of shading anymore. I find it superior to Japanese screentones (like Deleter) that I've worked with. It sticks better and is more transparent, which is important to the integrity of the line; lack of blurring. I keep a search on e-bay for the old Letratone, it's rare for it to show up. Of course, Deleter offers more variety but it's practically impossible to get the FULL range in the states. I'm lucky enough to get a nice selection at my fingertips in Kinokuniya Bookstores.
