Complete! Link to: Death by Chocolate, progress

Original Doodle by a former fan from Volume 20 of "Is It Scary"; a fan fiction by me, based off of Tim Burton's movie rendition of the book by Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. A kidnapped Charlie Bucket and an old, demented Mr. Prodnose. I thought the artist really captured the scene, especially the competing candyman's features as described. Scared yet?

The story is detailed, slightly dark in tone, involves the Oompa-loompas, all the Buckets and explores old world Pagansim along with other old world customs (adult/child relationships) and cultures. I throw in a lot of food references for "good measure" too.

Years ago, it was this very same artist who encouraged (begged) me to go through with the kernal of an idea, although I never thought anyone would such a deep exploration of themes from the tale. I was pleasently surprised to find myself writing for an audience far bigger than one. It was then that my pleasures and my troubles began; thus resulting in an equally lengthy journey for both the characters and myself. "Death by Chocolate"; a true dessert, an apt description of Wonka's & his heir's state of affairs and an irony perhaps only truly understood to life itself.
