Only his tears would actually sparkle.

Tall. Tall and absurdly thin. And good-natured. A bit like a preying mantis that doesn’t prey -- a non-preying mantis if you like. A sort of pleasant genial mantis that’s given up preying and taken up tennis instead.

What a perfect comment to add to such a dark image. It made me smile. Thank you.

Your opinion is the one I value the most. I swear, nothing I did was going to satisfy me. I forced myself to be done, but I could easily color it all over again. Still I don't think I'd do justice to the strong, spontaneous emotion of your pencil work.

But you did absolutely well! I love the strong lines a lot, almost looks like crayons, the rough look goes great with it since I was being rough when I drew it. It was really throwing lines angry. XD

Thank you. Like one thing I could have done different was to make the mirror far more glass-like but I preferred the idea of an image that looked more like he smashed his own face; a touch of the surreal. Because it is a memory, I wanted a faded quality too but I was torn with wanting starkness over a sense of vintage. So...this is what was the ultimate compromise. ^^;

I also really liked the idea of something "perfect", even too perfect, combined with destruction. As I colored it, I kept enjoying how you placed the perspective of the image, giving respect to the "real" Wonka being secondary to the reflection (where the eye goes first).

Oh there is something I noticed. His eyes are brown? Any reason for that?
When I noticed I wondered why, but my next thought was, "They look like mine." From the whole idea of that being my emotion and he serving as my vessel to reflect it in.
Also, I never said it. How you think that mirror broke?

Lavender didn't seem to suit him or the picture at the time, that's all I can say. I worked on instinct.

It's not important how the mirror broke, I wouldn't venture a guess unless you want to say.
