So do I need you. Day and Night follow each other in an endless cycle. Yin and Yang. One can not exist without the other.

Without the sun, the moon has no light of its own.

:star: Princess Serinity and Prince Endymion from Sailor Moon. :star:

:butterfly: This illustration was created to accompany a 'zine article about the deeper meanings weaved into Sailor Moon; themes about the Pagan female Goddess and such. There is a reason why Sailor Moon has a theme that love can concour all, along with the fact that there is a trinity behind Chibi Usa (Reina), Usagi (Serena), and her mother.

:damphyr: ART DETAILS: Drawn in pencil then inked with brush and waterproof Higgins. Then there was a giant glitch. Things not to do: leave your ink bottle open and get careless enough to allow it to spill accross your slaved over artwork. Yeah. That caused me to have to double back with layers and layers of "process white" (used by professional comic book illustrators) in a sort of "negative" inking process to recover the parts of the art that got erased in the ink splotch.

:evileye: The layers of white paint are quite thick as you might imagine. Even now, when I scanned this into the computer, I had to spent a whole bunch of time cleaning up the "specks" that where still detected. That's OK, it was sort of a relaxing thing to come home from school and do. I also spent a lot of time creating the initial balancing effects of the two illustrations. This was also the first time that I had to draw a "princess" costume.

Wow, your inking is amazing, as is your detail. Very fine work! (I love these characters!)

OH HELLYES

I used to be obsessed with this show when I was younger, and used to pretend that I was a sailor scout because I could.

not really feeling your Endymion, but Serenity rules like no ones business. She looks fantastic.

Exactly what I was going for. Yup, I tapped into a deep romantic notion of the characters that I didn't know I could even express.

The thing was that I took the whole 'zine thing VERY seriously. I saw it as a chance to practice being a magazine illustrator or commericial artist for a living. While I seemed to lack the confidence to do such things by myself, I was anxious to contribute to the synergy of a group. I don't know if my club ever realized how deep my feelings for the whole things went. For them, it might have all been somewhat mundane, but for me it was a dream come true to meet people as enthusiastic about the subject as myself. And as you may have noted on the internet, I was curious and interested about whatever others were into as well; I was open-minded, not clinging to only my own prefered genres. The clubs I joined DEFINATELY opened my eyes to the world of (as they are called) "Girl's comics" since early on only Shonen had been translated.

LOL! I like a comment like "Hell yes"

THAT was what he was called (gotta fix that). Duh, I even have a cologne with that name!!

Endymion is...hm, like a Prince Charming in this? I didn't like the Tuxedo mask thing much then and the whole series was very new to me so it is possible that I missed his character. I think there is a point were he has armor?? *blurry memory* I mighta got the idea from that. People had a habit of giving me tiny reference things like trading cards or such, so my imagination did a lot of work. I never cared for Tuxedo Mask's character in general. I fanned over the episodes where Usagi was tempted by Uranus then Star Fighter. I knew she'd stay with him of course, but I liked her being tempted (esepcially by gender-benders!!).

I liked the "White Knight" version of Mask best. I get why others would like him, but a person like him is more so veiwed by me as a jerk and someone I tend to compete with. I know it is a personal preference but I can't see anything "romantic" or "gentleman-like" about him. I'm always willing to watch the series again and see if my life experience has changed my POV. Life can be funny like that.

Ya know...looking at it, I bet it is the EYES that I missed on Tuxedo. Yeah. I did go for a "matching" look for the characters and his eyes are usually smaller, a thing the Japanese tend to use to imply "maturity" or a "lack of innocence". He looks rather young here while Usagi looks very mature.

Hm....

It's an emphasis word, rather than "Thank You" (Arigato) the "gozaimasu" adds a "Very Much".
